Paste a public YouTube link and convert the video to MP4 or one of six audio formats without installing software.
Open the video on YouTube, copy its share link and paste it into toTube. After the link is checked, choose MP4 to keep the video or an audio format to extract the sound. The temporary file is then prepared for download.
Public standard videos and Shorts are supported. Playlist links process one video at a time to keep jobs fast and downloads predictable.
Choose MP4 to keep the picture from the YouTube post. For offline listening, MP3 provides the broadest compatibility, M4A and Opus are often more efficient, and WAV or FLAC are better suited to editing and archiving. Converting to a lossless format cannot restore detail already missing from the public stream. The practical choice therefore depends on the target device, available storage and whether you still need the video track.
toTube selects the best public YouTube stream below the requested ceiling, up to 1080p. A source available only at 720p remains 720p because upscaling would not create real detail. For audio, 128 or 192 kbps is normally adequate for speech, while 256 or 320 kbps reduces additional loss for music. Video outputs are prepared as H.264/AAC MP4 when compatibility requires it and their streams are checked before download.
toTube never asks for your YouTube login and does not bypass private accounts, passwords, subscriptions, regional blocks or deleted media. Quality depends on the public stream supplied by the platform and video output is limited to 1080p.
Open the original YouTube post in a private browser window first. It must still exist, contain a video and play without signing in. Avoid profile pages, search results and embedded players; use the post’s Share control. An active live stream, expired story, regional restriction or temporary platform change can stop inspection. Copy the final post URL again, wait for a live stream to be published when necessary, and retry without adding text around the link.
